MANITOBA
Manitoba
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) provides various immigration pathways for foreign nationals to become permanent residents of Canada. It aims to attract immigrants whose skills and experience will benefit the province, including skilled workers, workers in industries facing labor shortages, recent graduates, and agricultural entrepreneurs.
The province has several immigration streams divided into four main categories:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM)
- Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO)
- International Education Stream (IES)
- Business Investor Stream (BIS)
Please note that significant changes are expected to be made to the MPNP throughout 2018. Check the MPNP Renewal details for the latest information.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
This category has three streams for workers who already have employment experience or job offers in Manitoba. Candidates must be currently working and living in the province or, in some cases, may be invited to apply after attending a recruitment session with MPNP overseas.
Skilled Workers Overseas
This category encompasses three streams designed for skilled workers who can join Manitoba’s workforce and adapt well to life in the province. These streams prioritize workers with experience in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations.
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream targets recent graduates from designated post-secondary institutions in Manitoba. Candidates must have some work experience or business management experience in the province, either after graduation or through an internship or co-op during their studies.
Business Investor Stream
This category has two streams for individuals with business management experience who want to start a new business venture in Manitoba. One stream is for general entrepreneurs, while the other is specifically for entrepreneurs in the farming sector.
